I use the web interface exclusively, mainly because I switch machines very constantly at work. I think they definitely are strugling with bandwidth issues and for getting something that just works, Pandora is hard to beat. The thing last.fm has going is that they have music for just about every band I have ever come across while Pandora seems to have a pretty limited track selection. In a 9 hour day on pandora I might hear the same song four times and only once on Last.FM. I am curious by what you mean that it rarely "connects the tracks I want to hear" The reason I like the program is that it gives me new music. If you want to listen on the web instead of the software that is a setting in your preferences.

I agree with you that the new last.fm 2.0 web site is a terrific concept. I really like the design. However, one major bust cripples the execution. Namely, the music player rarely connects the tracks I want to hear and NEVER starts the stations I want to listen to. Also, whatever happened to the 'play in the software' links. Currently, I am listening almost exclusively through the downloadable software and use the 2.0 web pages minimally for reference. Compared to what used to be, that's a shame. Furthermore, I've found zero information from last.fm acknowledging these problems and setting forth a reasonable timeframe for their solutions.
